Palo Alto, California — August 19th, 2017

Palo Alto is a community we've called home together for the last two years. But our identification as adoptive Palo Altans goes back a bit further than that.

Since 2013, Maika has been working for Canopy, a Palo Alto nonprofit that plants and cares for community trees.

Jim has been attending First Lutheran Church and singing in its choir since late 2008, including six years of commuting from San Francisco twice every week.

When and Where

Join us at First Lutheran Church, 600 Homer Avenue at Webster Street.

Ceremony begins at 5 pm, with time to get to the reception afterwards.

Reception to follow at the Arrillaga Family Recreation Center, 601 Laurel Street off of Burgess Park in downtown Menlo Park.

Accommodations and Travel

For those coming in from out of town, Palo Alto is almost exactly halfway between San Francisco (SFO) and San Jose (SJC) airports.

The official block of rooms is sold out, but you can still book a room at the Sheraton or Westin hotel in Palo Alto using the button below.

While the reception venue has a sizable parking lot of its own, the church does not. Street parking in the area isn't usually too difficult, and the church has an agreement with nearby parking lots for overflow parking.

Both venues are within walking distance of Caltrain, though you'll want to hitch a ride between venues with another guest if you take the train to the ceremony. Note that Caltrain only operates every 90 minutes on weekends.
